We Offer Special Activities & Real Life Opportunities for Seniors & Brain Injured Adults

Barss Residential Care has a full calendar of activities at our Michigan facilities that are tailored to the interest and abilities of each resident no matter the length of their stay whether it be long term or foster care. We offer a wide range of senior programs, and special activities for our brain injured residents to stimulate them and improve their overall brain functionality. These activities are meant to maintain and develop physical, emotional and mental wellness. A small sample of program offerings includes:

Daily exercise and stretches Music
Current Events Crafts
Puzzles Bingo
Holiday and birthday parties Donuts and coffee
Outdoor nature walks Spring Planting
Word games Trivia
Bible study Kickball
Nail Care

Barss Residential Care is not your typical nursing home or assisted living facility and we strongly believe small or large group outings stimulate our long term and foster care residents with a variety of different sights, sounds, smells and taste. In addition, such outings permit our elderly and brain injured residents to socialize and remain active within the community. Recent excursions included:

Detroit Tiger Baseball Game at Comerica Park Fishing Trip and Picnic Lunch
Trips to the Mall Concerts
Movies at the Cinema Dining at Local Restaurants
4th of July Fireworks Local Civic Theater
Armada Farmer’s Fair Apple Picking
Fall leaf Trip and Visit to the Pumpkin Patch

Here at Barss Residential Care, we enjoy offering comfortable living spaces while simultaneously offering stimulating activities and outings. We take a modern approach at how we care for our residents and steer away from the traditional, gloomy nursing home and assisted living atmosphere to offer an enjoyable stay at our Michigan facilities whether it’s long term living or a more respite form of foster care.
